TRUMBULL, CT — Two Bridgeport teens were arrested after they conspired to steal a motorcycle and drove off in a stolen vehicle July 22, according to police. A Cheshire resident arranged to sell his $3,000 Honda motorcycle at the Hawley Lane Mall in Trumbull via Craigslist. The two teens arrived with a third male who drove off with the motorcycle. The two teens then fled in a stolen 2009 Honda Accord. The vehicle was located in a nearby parking lot and the two suspects were apprehended after they fled on foot, police said Stratford Police assisted in the apprehension and several witnesses reported seeing the incident. If the arrival of Spring has you eager to explore new pursuits, Trumbull Congregational Church has begun another series of evening events designed to provide the perfect mid-week emotional boost. Called Wellness Wednesdays at TCC, the series, which proved popular during the winter and now runs through June 10, features three different activities aimed at addressing the mind, body and spirit: meditation classes and gentle yoga sessions, as well as a mandala workshop where attendees will learn to paint the geometric artworks that historically have symbolized the universe and are often used in meditation. The secular programs, which will take place at the church at 3115 Reservoir Avenue, are open to all members of the community, and require no prior experience in any of the activities. “The overall intent of this series is to create mindful moments for participants,” says Kirsten Nestro, a Trauma-informed Certified Instructor in Mindfulness Meditation who will be leading two of the sessions. “We want to enable attendees to cultivate connections to their true selves through creativity, movement and stillness.” The schedule and fees for the three activities are as follows:
<ul><li>Meditation – 6-7 p.m. on May 13 and May 20. Participation is $15 per session, or $25 for both.</li><li>Gentle Yoga – 6-7 p.m. on June 3 and June 10. Participation is $15 per session, or $25 for both.</li><li>Mandala Art – 6-8 p.m. on May 27. Participation is $40, with all materials included.</li></ul>

New Haven Ballet Presents The Sleeping Beauty at the Shubert Theatre
This spring, New Haven Ballet invites audiences across Greater New Haven to experience the magic of classical ballet with The Sleeping Beauty, coming to the historic Shubert Theatre on Saturday, May 23 at 1:00 p.m.
Perfect for young audiences and longtime dance lovers alike, this enchanting production brings Princess Aurora’s beloved story to life through storybook magic and the sweeping score of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Thoughtfully adapted for today’s audiences, the performance offers a welcoming introduction to ballet while keeping all the beauty and wonder that has made this fairytale a classic for generations.
The heart of this production is the dancers themselves.
Students ages 4 to 18 will take the stage after months of dedication and artistic growth, sharing a performance that celebrates not only technique, but creativity, confidence, and joy. For many young performers, it’s a meaningful milestone and a chance to experience the excitement of live theater together.
For more than 40 years, New Haven Ballet has helped young dancers grow both on and off the stage, with many students continuing on to prestigious summer intensives, conservatories, and professional dance careers.
In addition to The Sleeping Beauty, the program will feature contemporary and Broadway inspired works, along with performances by the School’s Shared Ability artists. Together, the pieces reflect New Haven Ballet’s commitment to creating a space where every dancer can learn, grow, and shine.
Artistic Director Lisa Kim shares, “This performance is a chance for our students to come together and share what they have been working toward all year. We hope it inspires everyone in the audience.”
Following the performance, children and families are invited to meet the fairies from the ballet, a magical moment younger audience members won’t soon forget.
With a running time of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission, the performance is ideal for both first time balletgoers and devoted fans of dance.
