Darien Burglar Steals $145 in Coins: PD

DARIEN, CT—Talk about a hefty heist.

Police are investigating a burglary at Jake's Place where $145 worth of wrapped and unwrapped coins were reported stolen.

Police investigating Aug. 25 early in the morning after morning shift workers reported the theft. A side window was broken sometime between 3:30 p.m. Aug. 24 and when the employees arrived at 4:30 a.m.

A cash register insert and a blue bank bag were taken.

A nearby safe was rifled through, but nothing was taken.

The rear door may have been used as an exit point.
