Delays, Detours Expected As Roadway Improvement Work Begins On Trumbull Street

Work on the long-anticipated project is scheduled to begin this week after more than a year of preparation, according to the town.

TRUMBULL, CT — Work on roadway improvements on Lake Avenue is scheduled to begin Wednesday in Trumbull, town officials announced this week.

According to the town website, the start of the long-anticipated project follows more than a year of preparation, including extensive drainage work completed last year.

The following details were announced Tuesday by the town of Trumbull:

Phase 1 – Starting June 24

  • Milling will begin on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, followed by paving the following week.
  • Location: Lake Avenue between Dayton Road and Main Street.

Phase 2 – Scheduled for July

  • Location: Lake Avenue between Dayton Road and Madison Avenue.
  • This section will start with road repairs to address sub-surface issues. Once complete, milling and paving will follow later in July, and additional details will be shared closer to the start date.

According to the town, residents are advised to use caution when traveling through the area and should anticipate delays and detours.

"Please plan accordingly and allow extra travel time during construction hours. Schedules can change depending on weather conditions," the website reads. "Thank you for your patience as we complete these important roadway improvements for the community."
