Driver Killed In Crash On Route 8 In Trumbull: State Police
State police said the Norwalk man was thrown from his vehicle after colliding with another car and hitting a guardrail in Trumbull.
TRUMBULL, CT — A Norwalk man was killed in a crash Wednesday night on Route 8 in Trumbull, according to state police.
According to an accident summary provided by State Police Troop G, Daniel Demichael, 34, of Norwalk, was fatally injured after being thrown from his car following a collision.
The crash was reported around 8:30 p.m. on Route 8 south near Exit 8 in Trumbull, according to state police.

Following their investigation, state police determined Demichael was driving a Jeep Wrangler in the right lane of Route 8 south while a Toyota Supra was merging onto the highway via the Exit 52 entrance ramp from Route 15 south.
As the Toyota merged into the right lane, it collided with the Jeep. The impact caused the Jeep to lose control, veer across the left lane into the center median and strike the metal beam guardrail, state police said.

As the Jeep continued through the guardrail, Demichael was ejected from the vehicle. He died as a result of his injuries, according to state police.
The driver of the Toyota and a juvenile passenger of the Jeep both received minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for further evaluation, according to state police.

Anyone who was driving through the area at the time of the crash and may have footage recorded on a vehicle equipped dashboard camera is also asked to contact Troop G in Bridgeport.
