DUI Arrest Made in Trumbull

The woman said she drank two 40-ounce beers and a fifth of vodka before driving, according to police.

TRUMBULL, CT — A woman told officers she drank two 40-ounce beers and a fifth of a bottle of vodka before getting behind the wheel to pick up some cigarettes, police said. An officer pulled into the Trumbull Food Mart around 2:30 a.m. Friday and saw a vehicle with no front plate and a tail light out, police said.

Amie Whitely, 45, was arrested after she failed a field sobriety test. Her BAC results were .239 and .221, both nearly three times the legal limit, according to police. She was also charged with possession of narcotics after police found a pill bottle with Oxycontin in it that didn't belong to her.
