DUI Driver Fell Asleep With Car On: Trumbull PD

Officers had to wake the man in a parking lot, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Easton man was charged with DUI after police got a report of an erractic driver in the area of Route 25and 111 Dec. 28 around 6:30 a.m., according to police.

The initial responding officer couldn’t find the vehicle, but another officer spotted it in the Stop and
Shop parking lot. The operator had the vehicle on and in drive and had to be woken up by police.

Joseph Martucci, 56, told police he drove back from Mohegan Sun and had two drinks, but had also taken
pain medication, police said. He had a leg brace on.

He failed a field sobriety test and was taken to headquarters. His BAC was 0 and police collected a urine test.

Martucci was charged with DUI and released on a promise to appear.
