DUI Driver Fled Crash: Trumbull PD

TRUMBULL, CT — A Trumbull woman was arrested after she fled a crash while intoxicated, according to police.

A witness took down the license plate number of a vehicle that fled a crash at Rt. 108 and Hawley Lane Oct. 7. Police traced the registration back to a nearby home. Officers arrived at the home and saw the car with damage consistent with the crash, police said.

They spoke to operator Elizabeth Sucharski, 51, who said she had several glasses of wine and other beverages before driving, according to police. She failed a field sobriety test and her BAC results were .223 and .217.

She was charged with DUI, evading responsibility and failure to insure a vehicle.
