DUI Driver Flips Car During Pursuit: Trumbull PD

The woman's BAC was more than triple the legal limit, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Shelton woman was arrested after she flipped her vehicle over during a police pursuit in Trumbull, according to police.

A caller reported an erratic driver in the area of White Plains Road and Route 127 around 6:30 a.m. Sept. 30, 2017. The operator pretended to pull over for police but then took off, police said.

The vehicle struck a curb on Main Street and flipped onto its roof during the crash. Operator Colette Kirby, 30, was taken to the hospital. Police later obtained her blood records and found her BAC was .29, which is more than triple the legal limit, police said.

She was charged April 29 by warrant with DUI, reckless driving, engaging police in a pursuit and operating under suspension.
