The Director's Club book discussion will meet 12-1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, to discuss "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" by Rebecca Skloot, the 2011 "One Book - One Town" reading selection. The group is led by library director Sue Horton.
Science journalist Skloot's book is a tale of medical wonders and medical arrogance, racism, poverty and the bond that grows, sometimes painfully, between two very different women – author Skloot and Deborah Lacks – sharing an obsession to learn about Deborah's mother, Henrietta, and her magical, immortal cells.
