Fallen Tree Causes Power Outage, Road Closed In Trumbull: Town

Trumbull officials said a road in town is closed after a large tree fell, causing a power outage in the area.

TRUMBULL, CT — A portion of Main Street is closed Tuesday morning after a large tree fell, causing a power outage in the area, according to Trumbull officials.

In a Facebook post around 9:45 a.m., town officials said a large tree fell across Main Street between Gisella Road and Route 25 in the area of Jensen Tire and Automotive, closing Main Street and taking down many wires with it.

"This has caused a large power outage in the area," the town's post reads. "Power will be out for several hours."

Main Street is closed at Gisella Road and a detour is in effect at Main Street and Whitney Avenue, according to the town.

Town officials said United Illuminating crews are currently in the area.

Residents are encouraged to avoid the area if possible, town officials said.
