Man, 61, Killed in Trumbull Crash: Police
The crash was reported Saturday morning around 9:30 a.m.

TRUMBULL, CT - A Stratford man was killed in a crash on Route 8 in Trumbull Saturday morning, according to Connecticut State Police.
The crash occurred when a vehicle traveling in the left lane of Route 8 southbound between exits 8 and 7 in Trumbull "dramatically" slowed down when causing a second vehicle traveling behind it to slow down as well, police said.
As the two cars slowed down, a third car driven by Clifford Voight, 61,of Stratford forcibly struck the second car from behind causing a chain reaction. Due to the impact of the crash, Voight was transported from the scene to Saint Vincent Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the second car, identified as a 32-year-old Vernon resident was not injured in the crash while the driver of the first vehicle, identified as a 30-year-old Bridgeport man was treated for minor injuries and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
