Fight Breaks Out At Trumbull Movie Theater, 3 Teens Arrested: Police

Police said a security guard was punched in the back of the head while trying to intervene and used pepper spray to break up the fight.

TRUMBULL, CT — Three Bridgeport teenagers were arrested Friday night after a fight broke out at a Trumbull movie theater and a security guard used pepper spray to break it up, according to police.

In a news release posted to Facebook, police said Trumbull and Bridgeport officers were called to the AMC Marquis 16 on Quarry Road around 9 p.m. after a fight involving a group of teenagers was reported at the theater.

According to police, the group began fighting in the theater, causing a security guard to intervene and attempt to break up the fight.

The security guard was punched in the back of the head while intervening and used pepper spray when he came under attack by the group of teenage girls, according to police. He was also struck in the face with a full drink.

Trumbull Emergency Medical Services responded to the area and treated a few minor injuries and pepper spray exposure. All parties involved refused to be taken to a hospital, police said.

Three 16-year-old girls were arrested on charges of breach of peace and assault on public safely personnel. They were each released to their guardians on a promise to appear in juvenile court this week, according to police.
