Fire Heavily Damages Trumbull Home

Several area fire departments responded to the blaze scene.

TRUMBULL, CT — A home on Chatham Drive was heavily damaged by a fire Tuesday afternoon. Trumbull Center, Long Hill and Nichols fire departments responded to the fire and were told an occupant may be trapped inside.

Firefighters determined the home was unoccupied and called in extra help from the Stepheny Volunteer Fire Company and Shelton Fire companies, according to the Trumbull Volunteer Fire Company.

The fire was knocked down in about 20 minutes and the scene was cleared by 7 p.m. after crews worked to extinguish hot spots.
