SHELTON, CT — Shelton Public School's former bus company is suing the city and allegedly a breach of contract.

Durham and the Shelton Board of Education entered into an agreement in May 2018 to provide transportation services for students. The agreement was updated in August 2018 to let Durham use city-owned buses for transportation. The city took over busing services for the district over the summer of 2019.

Durham's lawyers said in the lawsuit that the company spent more than $107,000 to make significant repairs to buses and to date hasn't been reimbursed.

"As a result thereof, Durham has incurred damages in the amount of $93,374.09 plus interest, attorney's fees and costs," wrote Bruce Elstein, Durham's lawyer in the lawsuit.

The company also alleges that it is owed more than $93,000 per its contract with the school system, which hasn't been paid.
