Former Trumbull Official Held on $300k Bond
A former Board of Education official was held after he failed to post the bond.

TRUMBULL, CT — Former Trumbull Board of Education chairman and current State Board of Education member Stephen Wright was held on a $300,000 bond after he failed to show up to court in a DUI case, according to police.
Wright is due in court again May 18. He was arrested for driving under the influence four times between Feb. 22 and April 10. To sign up for Trumbull breaking news alerts and more, click here.
Wright could face serious consequences if convicted on all four DUI counts. A person could be sentenced up to three years in prison and a mandatory minimum of one year for the third and subsequent DUI convictions. A third and subsequent DUI conviction carries with it a potential $2,000 to $8,000 fine.

Someone convicted of three DUIs in Connecticut could permanently lose their license and has to wait two years before requesting a hearing for reconsideration. Even if they are granted a license again they must use an interlock ignition device for as long as they drive, but could potentially have the limitation removed after 15 years for good cause.
