Former Trumbull Resident Named "American Opera Idol" Finalist

Nicolle Levesque to sing off at July 14 competition.

Opera Connecticut has chosen former Trumbull resident Nicolle Levesque, a Mezzo Soprano who now lives in College Park, Md., as one of the Finalists who will “sing off” to win the title of “American Opera Idol 2016” at a live competition on Thursday, July 14th at 7 p.m. at the Pond House Café in West Hartford’s Elizabeth Park. Nearly 60 opera singers from around the world entered the annual competition.

Audience tickets are available now and are expected to sell out before performance day. To purchase tickets at $30 per seat or $49 per seat with a box supper, go to www.Showclix.com or call 888-718-4253.

At the July 14th competition, 10 Finalists will perform in a Preliminary Round that will be judged by a panel of three opera professionals. The panel of judges will select five Super Finalists who will again perform and, this time, audience members will vote by text to choose the American Opera Idol 2016. This top winner will be awarded $1,500 with other cash prizes presented to the remaining four Super Finalists.
