Halloween Gunshots Fired Incident Probed In Trumbull

Police are investigating whether a dispute with youths led to the gunfire.

TRUMBULL, CT — Police are investigating after evidence was recovered that gunshots were fired during Halloween activities Tuesday night. Numerous residents reported gunfire at the intersection of Leffert Road and Foster Avenue in the Nichols section of town, said Deputy Chief Glenn Byrnes.

Bullet casings were found in the road. No one was injured in the incident.

Around 9 p.m. police responded to the area and found a group of youths running toward Unity Road. The group had come to the area from Bridgeport and reported that someone was shooting a gun nearby on Foster Avenue, Byrnes said.
