Harassment Over Dog Ends In Arrest: Trumbull PD

He wanted $400 or the dog he bought his ex-girlfriend back, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Bridgeport man was arrested after he violated a protective order and stalked his ex-girlfriend in Trumbull, according to police.

The victim's ex-boyfriend Juwan Gonsalves, 24, demanded that she give him $400 or return the dog he bought her, police said. He was arrested for a similar dispute in Bridgeport and a protective order was issued.

Gonsalves followed the woman from her home to the Target on Hawley Lane Aug. 24, police said. She called police but he left before they arrived.

Gonsalves turned himself in on a warrant Sept. 14 that charges him with third-degree stalking and violation of a protective order. He was held on a $25,000 bond.
