Herbst, Kelly Disagreement Over McGovern Situation Intensifies
First Selectman Tim Herbst and Trumbull DTC Chair Tom Kelly have had an ongoing quarrel about the Trumbull Police Commission situation.

TRUMBULL, CT—First Selectman Tim Herbst and Democratic Town Chairman Tom Kelly are having a back-and-forth disagreement about the issues surrounding Trumbull Police Commissioner Roger McGovern.
Herbst demanded that Kelly apologize to the Trumbull Police Department and Ethics Commission after Kelly released a statement, according to the Trumbull Times.
Kelly fired back Thursday and said that Democrats didn't question the Police Department or Ethics Commission and that their criticism is with Herbst's handling of the situation.

Both Kelly and Herbst have publicly called for McGovern's resignation after information surfaced regarding an incident where McGovern reportedly demanded money several times from a person who crashed into his vehicle.
