Herbst Lays Out Trumbull Sewer Use Plan

Herbst suggested regionalizing with another nearby municipality other than Bridgeport if things don't change.

Trumbull First Selectman Tim Herbst outlined his reasoning for ditching Bridgeport and opting for a regional approach to Trumbull wastewater treatment.

Herbst believes that the state wouldn’t grant approval for Trumbull to create its own treatment plant and the cost of $120 to $140 million would be too much for residents to take on, according to the Trumbull Times.

Herbst argued that Trumbull sewer customers shouldn’t be forced to pay for upgrades to parts of Bridgeport’s system they don’t use. He suggested regionalizing with another system such as Fairfield unless there is a mayor change in Bridgeport or the current administration makes changes.
