Herbst Wins Part Of Defamation Lawsuit

The rest of the case will head to a trial.

TRUMBULL, CT — First Selectman Tim Herbst won part of a defamation lawsuit filed by Gov. Dannel Malloy's associate Alfonso Barbarotta.

Barbarotta who manages AFB Construction Management claimed that Herbst sabotaged a $1.1 million maintenance deal with Stamford, according to the Stamford Advocate. A judge concluded that there was no evidence to support that conclusion.

The other part of the case that will go to trial is whether Herbst made defamatory statements about Barbarotta and his brother John's conduct in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
