Heroin Found During Shoplifting Arrest: Trumbull PD

A total of 50 bags of heroin were recovered, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Waterbury woman was charged with shoplifting and drug sale crimes after she was caught with stolen goods and 50 bags of heroin at the Trumbull mall Target location, according to police.

Police were called Sept. 29 to the mall on a report of two shoplifters in custody. Two women put items into a purse and then put that purse into another purse and tried to leave without paying, police said.

They were caught with $366 worth of stolen goods. Ayanna Seawell, 20, kept reaching for something in her purse. Officers checked the purse and found the 50 bags of heroin, according to police. She denied knowing it was there.

Seawell was charged with possession with intent to sell heroin and sixth-degree larceny. Shanise Moye, 19, was charged with sixth-degree larceny.
