Intoxicated Trumbull Driver Also Armed: PD

TRUMBULL, CT — A Trumbull man was arrested after he was found to be driving intoxicated while also being armed, police said.

Police were called to Stop and Shop Sept. 4 after a report from a concerned citizen about a man who appeared to be intoxicated and armed.

Police were en route to Stop and Shop when the man drove away. He was pulled over a short time later and failed field sobriety tests, police said.

Gregg Spychalla, 50, refused a BAC test, according to police. He has a gun permit.

He was charged with DUI and carrying a firearm while intoxicated.
