Intoxicated Motorist Fell Asleep on Route 15 in Trumbull: PD

TRUMBULL, CT — A woman parked diagonally in the middle of Route 15 southbound and was later arrested for DUI, police said.

A Trumbull officer was in traffic due to an earlier crash Dec. 17 around 1:30 a.m. As the traffic cleared he saw the vehicle parked in the middle of the two travel lanes. He approached the vehicle and the operator appeared to be sleeping and was startled.

Maxine Cartwright, 55, of Weston smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests, police said. She didn't know where she was.

She refused to take a blood alcohol test at Trumbull Police headquarters.
