A lawsuit will be heading to trial after a judge ruled that the Trumbull Board of Education isn’t immune to suit after a Trumbull teen suffered head injuries in gym class.
Superior Court Judge Barbara Bellis rules the Board of Education isn’t protected under government immunity from the suit, according to the Connecticut Post.
In 2011 then-freshman Natalie Intermann at Trumbull High School suffered a concussion in a physical education class after she was hit the head with a volleyball during a drill. The class lined up in two groups and threw volleyballs at each other while supervised by a teacher.
