K-9 Finds Trumbull Mall Thief: PD

The suspect tried hiding in an abandoned house, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A K-9 helped police locate a larceny suspect who fled the Trumbull mall, according to police.

Officers were called to the mall after a report of a suspect running away from security at the Spencer's store May 12. The suspect ran toward an abandoned house in the vicinity of the mall.

A K-9 unit on duty arrived at the scene and tracked the suspect who was hiding behind a chair, police said.

Gabriel Morales, 32, of Bridgeport gave police a false name during booking, according to police. He was charged with sixth-degree larceny, third-degree burglary, third-degree forgery and interfering with police.
