Lithium-Ion Battery Sparks Fire In Bedroom At Trumbull Home: Long Hill FD

TRUMBULL, CT — A fire that broke out inside a Trumbull bedroom Sunday afternoon was sparked by a lithium-ion battery, according to the Long Hill Volunteer Fire Co.

In a Facebook post, Long Hill fire officials said they received a report of a house fire with the possibility of a lithium-ion battery being involved.

When crews arrived at the home, they found a lithium-ion battery pack actively burning inside a bedroom, fire officials said.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and conducted a thorough investigation to ensure there were no remaining hazards associated with the battery, officials said.

The fire was contained to the battery pack and the bedroom, according to fire officials.

Trumbull Center and Nichols firefighters provided assistance, officials said.
