The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Controlling taxes and ensuring responsible spending. I am keenly focused on keeping our tax rate as stable as possible through controlled and responsible spending, expense reductions and grand list growth. Balance among responsible spending, stable taxes, quality town services and a strong school system keep our property values up, and our children well educated while making it affordable for seniors to stay in town during their retirement.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I am an experienced business person with 30 plus years in management and leadership positions in Fortune 500 companies. I have a proven track record in business, finance, accounting and management. I have and will continue to use that expertise to analyze the town budget and strike a balance among responsible, controlled spending and grand list growth, and while maintaining an exceptional school system and optimum level of town services.
Accomplishments:
In addition to my business experience, I have served on the Town Council for eight years as an active member of the Finance Committee, including serving as the Vice Chairperson, and have also served on the Education and Public Works committees. I have been a vocal advocate in controlling spending and looking for cost reductions, while ensuring we deliver the best possible town, education and public safety services possible. I was instrumental in obtaining approval for the repaving of Madison Avenue and advocated with my neighbors for the removal and repaving of the hazardous "glassphalt" streets throughout town. I have supported obtaining grant money for improvement projects, and including the improvements to Long Hill Green and various paving projects throughout town.
Other issues:
Working with the Administration and Town Departments to ensure that action is finally taken on our capital projects, including accelerated road paving, Indian Ledge parking lot completion, and addressing the aging Senior Center and closed Hillcrest pool. Seeking cost savings opportunities both within the Town and Board of Education and with surrounding towns to leverage our purchasing power to save taxpayer money.
What else would you like voters to know about you?

-am an active member of the Friends of Appalachia and participate on its annual service trip,
-was as a Girl Scout troop leader for 10 years, and
-am a Junior Achievement instructor and
