Man Arrested For 2016 Knife Assault At Trumbull Mall: PD
The man confronted an estranged girlfriend about why she wasn't returning his calls, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — Officers arrested a man after an alleged knife assault at the Trumbull Mall, according to police
Gary Wood, 52, was arrested in connection with the Dec. 28, 2016 incident.
Wood confronted his estranged girlfriend about why she wasn't answering his phone calls, police said. She told him that she blocked his number and he threatened to punch her in the face, police said.

The victim tried to walk away, but Wood pulled her by the hair. She got into her vehicle and attempted to leave, but he grabbed her phone from her pocket, police said. He then jumped on top of her in the vehicle and began to cut her pants with a knife, according to police. She sustained a puncture wound to her right knee.
The victim was able to get away and notified police.

Wood was picked up by State Police March 14 on the active arrest warrant.
He was charged with third-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, third-degree assault, second-degree threatening and second-degree reckless endangerment. Bond was set at $75,000.
