Man Arrested After Elderly Father Found With Infection: PD

The elderly man was found in an RV without any utility hookups, police said. His infected foot was wrapped in paper towels.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Trumbull man was arrested after his elderly father was found in a filthy RV with an infection, according to police.

A worker at the Bridgeport Hospital wound clinic called police Oct. 8 after a patient had missed two appointments in a row. Police went to Chatham Drive where two separate houses had burned down and found the RV on the property.

Officers encountered a foul odor in the RV and found the elderly man with paper towels wrapped around his infected foot, police said. EMS brought him to the hospital.

The man's son, Carlo Carboni, 55, was supposed to take him to the wound care clinic, police said. Carboni was arrested by warrant Oct. 23 and charged with third-degree abuse of persons.
