The woman was hit several times in the face, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Norwalk man was arrested after he assaulted his girlfriend Halloween night, according to police. The victim told police that Richard Salazar, 36, accused her of sleeping with other men and then threw her across the room.

He then struck her several times in the face and continued the assault after she attempted to hide in a closet, said Lt. Doug Smith, police spokesman. She eventually made it to a bathroom and locked the door. Salazar then left the home.

The victim had visible cuts and bruises on her face.
