Man Charged with Violating Protective Order in Trumbull
He contacted a woman via a mailed letter and in person, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Shelton man was charged with violating a protective order after he contacted a woman via a mailed letter, police said.
Fernando Palmieri, 75, was previously arrested during a domestic incident and protective and restraining orders were filed, police said.
He mailed a letter to the protective party in mid-November, according to police. The woman realized it was from because it was written in Italian and in his handwriting.

She saw Palmieri at a Shop Rite location at a later date. She tried to avoid him, but he blocked her in her parking space and tried to talk to her, police said.
A warrant was issued and Palmieri was picked up at his Shelton residence. He was charged with violation of a protective order and violation of a restraining order and was issued a $50,000 bond.
