Man Drops Wallet During Trumbull Robbery: PD

Officers had little trouble finding a suspected robber after he dropped his wallet at the crime scene, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Shelton man was arrested after a shoplifting incident turned into a robbery at the Trumbull mall March 27, according to police.

A man shoplifted nearly $200 worth of goods from Target and was confronted by security guards. He pushed a shopping cart into a security guard and left the scene in a Lexus, police said. While fleeing he dropped his wallet.

Shelton Police contacted Thomas Demchak, 47, and he turned himself in to Trumbull Police a few hours later. He was charged with third-degree robbery and criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny.
