Man Shoplifted, Gave Fake Name To Police: Trumbull PD

He was wanted on several outstanding charges.

TRUMBULL, CT — A New Haven man was arrested after he stole several electronics from Target at the Trumbull mall and gave officers a fake name, according to police.

Jason Dixon, 40, of New Haven was seen using scissors to cut the security tags off of three phones and two Sony brand headphones from the store. Security called police and officers took him into custody at the bus stop near the mall, police said.

Police also found a Denim jacket and other headphones that were likely taken from another store, but couldn’t be traced back. More than $400 worth of goods was taken from Target.

Dixon gave police a fake name during booking. He was wanted on three failure to appear warrants from other towns.

He was charged with sixth-degree larceny, second-degree forgery, illegal possession of a shoplifting device, two counts of second-degree failure to appear, first-degree failure to appear and interfering with police.
Total bond was set at $10,000.
