Man Stole 39 Pairs of Jeans in Trumbull: PD

Loss prevention didn't have too much trouble stopping the suspect, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT—These jeans weren't made for stealing.

A Bridgeport man was arrested after he stole 39 pairs of Jessica Simpson jeans from the Lord and Taylor store Sept. 20, according to police.

Loss prevention at the store saw Gregory Whren, 54, enter the store. He is previously known from other shoplifting cases, police said.

He walked through the store and took 18 pairs of one type of Jessica Simpson brand jeans and 21 pairs of another model and left without paying, according to police.

He was stopped by loss prevention and was later arrested by police. The total value of the jeans was $2,530.50. He was charged with third-degree larceny.
