Man Stole Checks From Trumbull Restaurant: PD

The man was a former employee at the restaurant, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A former Wahlburgers employee was arrested after he fraudulently cashed two checks worth more than $1,600 combined, according to police.

A manager at the store made a complaint to police May 14 about two stolen checks. He tried to stop payment on the checks stolen from his office, but they had already cleared.

Police learned that Russell Brown, 39, of Bridgeport had cashed the checks. He was arrested Oct. 9 at the Bridgeport courthouse on an active arrest warrant. To sign up for Trumbull breaking news alerts and more, click here.

He is charged with two counts of third-degree forgery and two counts of fifth-degree larceny. He was held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
