Man Who Reported Robbery in Trumbull Later Charged With the Crime
The incident occurred Sunday night just before midnight and involved a BP Gas Station.

A Trumbull resident who reported driving by a BP Station and seeing a broken front window and three males fleeing from the station dropping lottery tickets was later implicated in the burglary.
Police responded to the robbery at 5771 Main St. just before midnight on Dec. 21.
According to police, Darren Klein, 26 reported the incident, however they found his story to have several inconsistencies and further investigation revealed that Klein was implicated in the burglary.

Police arrested Klein, charging him with burglary in the first degree, criminal mischief in the second degree, larceny in the sixth degree for giving a false statement and interfering with an officer.
