Masked Thieves Smash Glass Display Case, Steal Merchandise From Trumbull Mall: Police

Police said two people wearing masks smashed a glass display case at a store in the mall, then stole some merchandise and left on foot.

TRUMBULL, CT — Two masked thieves smashed a glass display case and stole some merchandise from a jewelry store at the Trumbull Mall over the weekend, according to the Trumbull Police Department.

In a community update posted to Facebook, police said two unknown suspects wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts used tools to smash a glass display case at the Banter by Piercing Pagoda store at the mall Saturday around 5:30 p.m. and stole an undetermined amount of merchandise.

The suspects then left on foot in an unknown direction off the mall property, police said.

No one was injured or threatened during the incident, according to police.

Police also noted an investigation of the incident "is still in the early stages."
