Movie Theater In Trumbull Bought By AMC Theatres: Report
The 16-screen Bow Tie Ultimate Marquis 16 is changing hands.
TRUMBULL, CT — AMC Theatres is buying the Bow Tie Ultimate Marquis 16 & BTX in Trumbull, one of seven Bow Tie Cinemas theaters the movie theater giant is buying in Connecticut and other states, the company announced last week.
The Marquis 16 is located on Quarry Road, and it will be rebranded as the AMC Marquis 16. Besides the Trumbull theater, the other Bow Tie theaters AMC is buying in Connecticut are two theaters in Norwalk and two in Stamford.
AMC is also buying former Bow Tie theaters in Annapolis, Maryland and Saratoga Springs, New York. All the rebranded theaters are expected to open this month, according to AMC.

Adam Aron, Chairman and CEO of AMC, said in a statement that the five theaters the company is buying in Connecticut more than doubles its presence in the state.
"I would particularly like to thank Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont," Aron said. "While AMC did not seek or receive any special tax benefit or other inducement to expand our presence in the state of Connecticut, Governor Lamont has made great strides to enhance the appeal of Connecticut, making it a particularly attractive jurisdiction in which to more than double our size."
