Obituary: Frances Scala Giovanelli, 92, Of Trumbull

Frances Scala Giovanelli, age 92, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late, Jerry J. Giovanelli, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 10, 2023. Born in Bridgeport on June 25, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Rose DeMasi Scala.

Before her retirement, Frances was an office manager for Mitchell & Bailey for many years. A dedicated parishioner of Christ the King Church, Trumbull, she volunteered on many committees and helped the parish in any way possible.

Survivors include two brothers, Anthony Scala and his wife Helen of Easton and Joseph Scala of Texas, a sister, Rosemarie McKeown and her husband John of Virginia, sister-in-law, Anna Scala of Stratford, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Sebastian "Sebe" Scala.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 10 a.m. directly in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours.
