Obituary: Gene R. Scaperotta, 90, Of Trumbull
He had many diverse occupations and finally became the owner of Biff's Package Store on Rt. 111 in Trumbull, for 38 years before he retired.

TRUMBULL, CT — (From Pistey Funeral Home): Gene R. Scaperotta, 90, of Trumbull, passed away on January 26, 2024 at Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport.
Gene was the husband of Alexandria “Sandy” Yezik Scaperotta for 69 years. He was the son of Generoso and Wilhelmina La Rosa Scaperotta.
He graduated from Stratford High School and attended two years of college in Boston studying architecture. He later designed and built their home in Trumbull. He went on to do many diverse occupations and finally became the owner of Biff’s Package Store on Rt. 111 in Trumbull, for 38 years before he retired.

He also served in the Navy Reserves, Seabee division, for 28 years. Gene was a Knight of Columbus, Third Degree.
He was a member of Tashua Knolls Senior men’s golf club. He and his wife played weekly for many years. They traveled on yearly golf trips for decades, to places such as Myrtle Beach, SC, Ocean City, MD, and Lake Morey, VT with a group of friends whose company he really enjoyed. He was proud of his hole in one.

He is predeceased by his parents, his brother William, and nephew Matthew Scaperotta.
Gene is survived by his loving wife Alexandria, four children, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Daughter Paula and husband Carl Haggstrom, son Gene Jr. Scaperotta and wife Eve, daughter JoAnn and husband Jerry Young, and daughter Diana Miller. Grandchildren Travis and Sean Young, Eric and Matthew Haggstrom, Alex and Libby Scaperotta, and Cassidy and Allie Miller. Great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Neil Haggstrom, Taylor and Aubree Young and Gabe, Harper and Hadley Young.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Bridgeport Hospital for their compassionate care and treatment.
