Obituary: Louisa Russo, 101, Of Trumbull

A lifelong Trumbull resident, Louisa worked as a master seamstress at Seaside Blouse Company for many years until her retirement.

Louisa Russo, 101, of Trumbull passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Russo.

Louisa was born October 17, 1921, in Pine Township, Pennsylvania to the late Salvatore Gagliardi and Mary Porco Gagliardi. She grew up in Amantea, Italy, returning to the United States briefly residing in Bridgeport, until becoming a lifelong Trumbull resident. Louisa loved sewing and made a career of it. She worked as a Master Seamstress at Seaside Blouse Company for many years until her retirement. Louisa was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of St. Catherine of Sienna. She loved cooking and gardening, but her passion was her family.

She is survived by her loving son Mario Russo; her grandsons David and wife Nancy, Danny and wife Loraynna, Anthony and wife Marian; her brother Victor Gagliardi; her great grandchildren Ariel Russo, Michael Russo, Vanessa Russo, James Russo, Lauren Russo and Tyler Russo; great great grandchildren Noel and Cassius Ramos.

In addition to her husband and parents, Louisa was predeceased by her daughter Rita Russo, her brother Jimmy Gagliardi, and her sisters Anne Folino and Gemma Gagliardi.

At the request of the family, funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louisa's memory may be made to her patron saint, Saint Anthony at https://www.stanthony.org/donate-to-franciscans/#field_13_15.
