Obituary: Sylvia Ann Jones, 84, Of Trumbull

Sylvia Ann Jones, age 84, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2023 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Bridgeport on December 19, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Clifford E. and Gertrude (Cronk) Jones.

Sylvia had worked in the billing department at Mitchel Brothers before eventually spending many years in the bakery at Pathmark before her retirement. A very active member of the Trumbull Senior Center, Sylvia also found great enjoyment doing crafts with others that shared similar interests.

She was an animal lover and also took great effort in researching her family ancestry. A loving and devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Deborah "Debbie" Barry and her husband William of Meriden, cherished grandson, Benjamin William Barry of Meriden, her sister, Martha Vizzo of Oxford, her brother, Richard A. Jones of Trumbull, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Susan Raiente and a brother, William E. Jones.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
