Optimum Service Outage: Service Restoration Underway

Customers in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York reported outages.

CONNECTICUT — Optimum service restoration began around 1 a.m., the company tweeted Saturday morning. To put it mildly, folks were not happy with the outage and apparently some even called 911, which forced local police departments to address the outages on social media late Friday.

"Our teams worked around the clock, and services are being restored as of earlier this morning. We appreciate our customers’ patience during that time," said Lisa Anselmo, head of communications for Altice USA.

Many people tweeted their displeasure concerning the outage and asked if their bills would be issued a credit by Optimum. While some folks recalled the days where there was no internet and only a few TV channels to choose from.
