Optimum Service Outage: Service Restoration Underway
Customers in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York reported outages.
CONNECTICUT — Optimum service restoration began around 1 a.m., the company tweeted Saturday morning. To put it mildly, folks were not happy with the outage and apparently some even called 911, which forced local police departments to address the outages on social media late Friday.
"Our teams worked around the clock, and services are being restored as of earlier this morning. We appreciate our customers’ patience during that time," said Lisa Anselmo, head of communications for Altice USA.
Who in their right mind would call the Police Department because the cable is out. https://t.co/kwCsPY5l6d

Optimum/Altice is aware of the service outage. Please do not call 911 to report the service disruption.

Many people tweeted their displeasure concerning the outage and asked if their bills would be issued a credit by Optimum. While some folks recalled the days where there was no internet and only a few TV channels to choose from.

@News12CT @optimum @AlticeUSA @senatorduff we need an explanation what happened to our service and why you failed miserably handling it. You need to seriously reevaluate your emergency procedures and how you communicate with customers-why is this not on the 12 news this morning?
