Orange Police continued their investigation and received information from witnesses and the public throughout the evening hours.
An anonymous tip led officers to several Facebook pages where they were able to identify the suspect and the driver of the getaway car, police said.
Shelton Police Detective Chris Nugent assisted in the investigation along with members of the Shelton Police Department where the suspect was taken into custody by Orange Detectives. Both were charged and held on $25,000 bond and will be arraigned in Derby Superior court this morning. Both Gittings and Miranti have criminal histories.
“This is an example of using good old fashion police work combined with today’s social media that led to the successful and quick arrests in this case. The Orange Police want to thank the public for spreading the word on yesterday’s robbery and calling in leads to Investigators.” said Assistant Chief Anthony Cuozzo.
Lieutenant Andrew Steinbrick and Detective Brian Petrucelli led the investigation.
