Trumbull resident Jason Marsh tells Patch why he should be reelected to the Town Council.

TRUMBULL, CT — The 2023 municipal election is heating up in Trumbull and there are plenty of local races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.

Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?
I was elected to the Town Council in 2015 and have served continuously since then.
Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?
To continue to serve and support the community that has been so good to me and my family and to continue the great work of Vicki Tesoro and her administration.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ___, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Taxes. I will continue to work to find fiscally responsible ways to keep taxes predictable and stable while fully funding our schools, first responders and Public Works department.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
My legal background and the experience of having been on Council since 2015 and understanding the challenges of governing through challenging times, including a global pandemic.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Supporting the new mall ownership in its revitalization efforts.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Aside from the fact that I've been a productive member of the Town Council since 2015, my work as a handling complex corporate and commercial transactions as an attorney for the last 24 years.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Be smart enough to know that you don't know everything.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I've been a Trumbull resident for over 20 years. This community has given so much to me and my family. It is an honor and privilege to be able to give back by volunteering my time as a member of the Town Council.
