PD: Hoax Call Sent Trumbull Schools into Lockdown

Schools went into a modified lockdown after someone called claiming a man was wandering the area with a gun.

Several Trumbull schools were placed into a modified lockdown after a female caller reported a man carrying a long gun near Trumbull High School Friday.

A call was made to 911 around 10:38 a.m. on Sept. 25.

The caller disconnected before giving additional information, said Lt. Leonard Scinto, police spokesman.

Trumbull High, Hillcrest and Daniels Farm were put into a modified lockdown as police checked the area.

Nothing was found and normal activities resumed 30 minutes later.

The call was similar to another hoax call made on Sept. 22 about a man with a gun at Trumbull Home Depot, Scinto said.

“These incidents place the public and responding officers in danger,” Scinto said.
