Pizza Delivery Robbery Arrest Made: Trumbull PD

A driver was baited into becoming a robbery victim, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Bridgeport man was arrested after he took part in two robberies, one of which involved robbing a pizza driver, according to police.

A delivery driver was sent to Avalon Gates apartment complex to deliver a pizza over the summer. The caller gave the driver a keypad code so he could access the front gate. The driver was then instructed to go toward a group of apartments where he was met by a group of men and juveniles.

The driver was thrown to the ground and money was demanded, police said. The thieves made off with the driver's wallet, which had about $60 in it. The victim refused medical treatment.

Police identified several individuals, one of whom is Dwight Daley, 19. Daley turned himself in Feb. 6 on an active warrant for the pizza incident and another robbery which involved the robbery of a Trumbull teen.

Daley was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery, fourth-degree larceny,two counts of third-degree assault, sixth degree larceny, penalty for credit card crime and interfering with police for both incidents. He was held on a $25,000 bond.
