Plea Made In Killing Of Trumbull Native
Kevin Sutherland was killed two years ago after being stabbed in a D.C. subway.

TRUMBULL, CT — A judge accepted a plea agreement for the 21-year-old man who killed Trumbull native Kevin Sutherland in a D.C. subway stabbing two years ago.
Jasper Spires will serve at least 30 years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 12, 2018, according to the Connecticut Post.
Sutherland, 24, was heading to a celebration on July 4 when he was stabbed. He worked at New Blue Interactive, as a graphics specialist for the company that helps Democratic candidates. He also interned for Congressman Jim Himes.
