Police Vehicle Damaged As Over 100 Dirt Bikes, Quads Ride Through Trumbull: PD

Police said the dozens of dirt bikes and quads took up all travel lanes of some roads in town as they made their way through Trumbull.

TRUMBULL, CT — A police vehicle was damaged as over 100 dirt bikes and quads rode through Trumbull early Sunday evening, taking up all travel lanes of some roads in town in the process, according to the Trumbull Police Department.

In a Facebook post, police said the large number of dirt bikes and quads rode through town around 5:15 p.m. and took up all travel lanes on Route 127, Old Town Road and Main Street.

According to police, officers were called to the area in an attempt to stop and assist citizens caught within the route, as well as prevent damage to cars and potential injuries.

One police vehicle had its mirror broken by a rider, however no other damage was reported, according to the department.

Police said they seized one quad when it became disabled.

According to police, travelers are advised "to pull to the side and avoid such reckless driving behavior" when caught in these types of situations.

"Police are limited in their ability to engage in the pursuit of the riders," police wrote on Facebook, "but do try and apprehend and identify them the best they can."
